I am always on the hunt for an Earth centered story for my children. I was very excited to connect with fellow Washington author and mother, Ancient Amber. She sent me two books to check out and I am excited to share my honest review of The Sunchildren: Celebrating the Autumn Equinox.
This colorful book is about a seasonal thanksgiving for families of the Earth. We meet the Sunchildren who are happy and creative magical beings. They celebrate the Autumn Equinox in beautiful ways, such as harvesting food decorating their friendship tree, and making music.
I love how interactive the book is for parents/caregivers and children. The author asks readers what they see in the pictures and it presents an opportunity to ask children questions about the story. In the back of the book there are places for your child to write and draw how they celebrate the change of the season!
Treat a child you know to a copy of this lovely book (recommended for ages 5+) and you'll be supporting an indie author at the same time!
