Sheila M. Sullivan is a writer and continues her love affair with words, stories, and books on a daily basis. Her path to becoming a full-time writer happened in fits and spurts. Before fulfilling her dream of writing, Sheila practiced law as a litigator in California. Her dream of writing would take a back seat to the writing of legal briefs and motions until life intervened and gave her the opportunity to write. She writes fiction, mystery, and non-fiction.
Sheila is an avid reader across the genres. Fiction novels, mysteries, thrillers, science fiction, comic books, non-fiction, and contemporary novels continue to fill her library. This love of books was implanted in Sheila by her parents. The family trips included very heavy suitcases because everyone would pack books. This was before the invention of Kindle and other electronic tablets.
She has been accused of creating a writing career to forgo doing some of the household chores that keep a place neat and organized. Writers write when the muse strikes. For Sheila, the muse always seems to strike when the laundry is piling up. When asked about the promise she made to her wife about doing the laundry once the book was done, she responded. “I am now working on my next book.”
Her focus is on the humor, love, and the tension secrets create in the contemporary life of her characters. Sheila hopes her fiction brings entertainment, laughter, and insights. The stories are fiction. Fiction that holds a mirror up to our contemporary society with all the love, struggle, heartache, desire, mystery, and suspense that comes from life.
When not traveling, writing, or avoiding laundry, Sheila and her wife will be out enjoying adventures with their Cardigan Welsh Corgis. He is so much happier when he has the family out for a walk in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
